Shouldn't Greenland be green? Ask a Question

By that logic:

Shouldn't Iceland be icy?

Shouldn't New England be New?

Shouldn't Turkey be made of Turkey?

Shouldn't everyone be running from Iran?

Shouldn't Chile be Chilly?

Shouldn't Estonia be all stoney?

No kidding(!)

That explains a lot. ;o)

well... actually Estonia is in the EAST of Europe and new England is newer than (old) England, and Iceland has the biggest glaciers in Europe so it's pretty icy..

oh and speaking of the iRan, you reminden me of something http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw2nkoGLhrE

lol!

Umm... are you sure Greenland doesn't have a bigger glacier than Iceland? ;o)

It most certainly does but Greenland is part of the North American Continent, I said that Iceland has the biggest glaciers in Europe

When it was settled, during the Medieval Warm Period, it was, at least on the coasts. And, of course, the guy who named it had a financial stake in attracting settlers--a lesson we still have trouble with today.

Actually, no, it was never all that green (except the southern part in the summer). But you are partially correct. The name "Greenland" was one of the first real estate marketing scams in history (perpetrated by Erik the Red). Worked, too.

Iceland, on the other hand IS mostly green (at least in the summer).
