I refuse to pander to political correctness, if people don't like hearing merry christmas they should FUCK OFF back to whatever hole they left

Wow... now there's some real peace and love for the holidays. ;o)

Blessed Yule.

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. No one is forcing anyone to celebrate Christmas.

LOL, and here ladies and gentlemen we have a classic example of the pot calling the kettle black (if you know what I men :))

Man, that is the truth, wonder what he is going to do with his everlasting life, try to find something wrong with everyone? For a man that wears panties and calls himself puss, it is not so strange I guess.

CHRISTmas, as in JULaften? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yule#Contemporary_traditions

Its still named jul here in scandinavia. Jesus wasn't even born close to december..

Thor > Jesus, only a weak god/demi-god dies by the hand of mortals.

This time of year here is called winter.

You were doing so well until the final paragraph...

I sneer at you. In South Florida, the reason there is a "Holiday Season" and you are not permitted to display a manger in a public place, or make any reference to "Merry Christmas" on a sign in a public place, like a shopping center, is the result of complaints from people of the Jewish faith. You can display a "Holiday" tree, but you must also display a menorah. Has nothing, repeat NOTHING, to do with Islam.

First of all, you're the expert at bullshit. Secondly, I live here. It is the norm now, for perhaps the past 10 years, that no one that works in retail says "Merry Christmas". It is "Happy Holidays". I remember a few court cases where signs had to be removed or a menorah had to be put up along with the Christmas tree. Sign of the times, I guess...

It was a big deal, maybe 10 years ago, but now people are used to it. If I remember correctly, lawsuits were filed to remove manager scenes from churches, but it was private property. I do know that now you won't find one in a public shopping center. Sad, but true...

Lets not take this argument the level of screaming and hating because I don't want that. If it does I will remove this question. So please can't we all just get along?

Sorry, there's no screaming or hating. I hate no one. If you look at the flow of conversation here, rationally, what you may perceive is not of my doing. I do not take offense to anything that Wing has posted, I'm just explaining how things are where I live.

FYI

I was watching the Pittsburgh-Baltimore game and they had a promo wishing everyone, their viewers, best wishes for the "Holiday Season". At the end, across the screen, it said "Happy Holidays".

But the bigger question is this...

There is no Santa Claus and many people believe there is no Jesus Christ. So what difference does it make what we call the season??

It died with political correctness. Our views haven't changed.

You've got to be taught To hate and fear, You've got to be taught From year to year, It's got to be drummed In your dear little ear You've got to be carefully taught.

You've got to be taught to be afraid Of people whose eyes are oddly made, And people whose skin is a diff'rent shade, You've got to be carefully taught.

You've got to be taught before it's too late, Before you are six or seven or eight, To hate all the people your relatives hate, You've got to be carefully taught!

Sorry you are wrong. Wal-Mart allows ther people to say Merry Christmas. I know, I worked there. I was a people greeter and I always said Merry Christmas.

Do you live in South Florida?

I agree. How can you contest what I say about where I live when you do not live here? I am telling you what this area is like. How could I be creditable when voicing my opinion about Suhl, since I do not live there?

True story, Wing. Ten years ago, I used to golf a lot, and I mean a lot, with the docs I worked with, whom were mostly Jewish. Their private clubs were heavily Jewish also. I visited my friend near Akron, Ohio and the 3 clubs we played at would not allow Jews to join back then. Also, in South Florida, you have to deal with the factor known as "Feliz Navidad".

He only reads the parts he wants to. More than likely not in Fla at all.

Who would dare? Some fruitcake would be dying (litterally) to use you as the passport to his 72 virgins [or raisins - the jury is still out on that one].

classic post :)

I remember hearing there was something called "Devils food cake" and assumed it was the same stuff, possibly with even more fruit, for fruitcake is surely the work of the devil, and proof of his dastardly plots.

A friend gave some leftovers to the birds, poor things needed a 300 ft runway to get off the ground again!

:-) Funny post, but devils food cake is chocolate cake...no fruit.

Everyone know the appropriate greeting is Happy Christmas. Right, As?

Depends on who I'm talking to. To Jewish or Muslim friends, I'd say happy holidays, and they usually wish me a merry christmas back.

What's wrong with "have a great time"?

works for me, and coversa a multitude of sins.

They can take the "time" to mean whatever it does mean to them.

I have always celebrated Christmas and always will. Merry Christmas to all.

And to all a good night.

I think people need to simmer down a little bit. My cards this year say Happy Holidays because not everyone I send them to is a Christian. Wow! People of different religions can be FRIENDS! Someone write this down because apparently it's a revalating friggin' concept for some of you. Why don't we all just quit whining, bickering, griping and spreading hate. It's the friggin' holiday season, y'all. If you don't wanna celebrate, then order a pizza and watch Sports Center 'til January, but this > and < is ridiculous. We might try a little = for a change!
