You are very lucky then. We have it 7 hrs a day and I am a very busy person after school. To do homework is like torture starting after my after school activities.
I can't see schools setting up cots for students, but I've no objection to them sleeping through study periods. Perhaps their parents need to disconnect their routers at night.
A lot of schools don't have study periods (like mine for example). I find it very hard to concentrate in class, so I thought this would be a very good idea.
School is only 5 hours a day here, so kids have 19 hours to do homework, travel eat and sleep. I think they need a little more self discipline...

Why dont you try and get some sleep at home?
I try...but it doesn't happen. :)
Its already perfectly integrated into history class hours over here.
Here, we are all too scared of losing our grades to sleep in class.
I think the idea of siesta would be an interesting idea to try in the US, will we, I doubt it.
