I cannot see where legalizing an addictive drug benefits the society. Granted, it has proven to be therapeutic for some ailments, but with all the drugs on the market now days, there should be an alternative. As for the drug cartels, I don't think they bother much with marijuana. They are more into the hard core drugs. P.S. I thought that I would transfer my comments from the earlier question before dauguy did it for me.

Alcohol is legal.

Yet Codeine, Aspirin, all the NSAIDS, acid-reducers, and sugar (to name just a few addictive drugs) are all legal.

Legalize them all. The thrill of doing that illegal thing won't be there and less people would be trying them. It would also take away the billions in profit the drug barons are enjoying. If the US gov sold them, they could do a lot of good things with the money. If BO didn't give it away as a stimulus so some failing company can give the bosses that ruined them a big bonus it would work.

They should legalize it because it's stupid that it's illegal.

I think they should legalize it.

The woman in NJ that drove on the wrong side of road this week, killing herself, her child, three nieces, and the people in the car she hit, was high on MJ and alcohol. No we should not legalize drugs.
