Investigating why there was a meltdown is great, but it will not come to the right conclusions on how to go forward. Capitalism will insist on doing the same as we have been maybe with some more or even less regulation. At some point it will just happen again.
I think every single one of the financial laws that were relaxed should be made public. And I think those who voted 'yea' for the relaxation of those laws should be listed prominently. Those who voted "yea" should have their constituency notified by mail that their congressional member played a part in this fiasco, and to which party they belonged. It would certainly save a lot of finger pointing and arguing.
Absolutely they should be investigated, the most dangerous people are the ones that feel they cant be touched..
