True. Anyone honestly supporting laws censoring Ann Coulter or Alec Baldwin sides with tyranny and against America. I suspect the "Yes" answers aren't serious.

Like most of the Bill of Rights, honored more in the breach. Which is why the left (don't give me that about the Dems, they are NOT left) can't even BUY time on major networks.
The left doesn't need to BUY time on the major networks, They ARE the major networks. Just catch the nightly new or the Clinton News Network or MSLSD, etc.
That chant is SO old - and so untrue. Rupert Murdoch owns so much of the media that laws had to be changed so he could buy more. And good ol' boy Rupie isn't exactly a lefty OR a centrist. If you want freedom of speech, get in the car and just keep turning the dial. The left is on the right - the right is on the left. And you can still hear the lefties talking about what's wrong with America - and the righties talking about the "crazy leftists."
Leftist George Soros (worth $8.5B) owns what Rupert Murdock (worth $8.8B) doesn't, including more TV holdings and politicos. It would be a wash, but Soros is more activist than Murdock; Soros bans right-wingers, Murdock demands left-wing voices be given equal time. It's the center that has little say.
Your comment only supports my assertion. What is called the 'left' by most folks in America is a centrist position, especially as measured against a full political spectrum. So, as I said, the Left cannot even buy time on network/cable. We've tried, and been turned down.
That's not completely true. I like Rush Limbaugh because he's the living embodiment of right-wing hypocrisy. He screams about lefties 'hugging' of drug addicts while he himself is one. I like Bill O'Reilly because he railed on and on about Clinton's sexual misconduct, but then he ... well, 'nuff said. Ann Coulter I dislike because I really don't believe she's a true conservative. Anne Coulter would morph into whatever she had to be to get attention and sell her books. I've never heard her really offer a solid, reasonable argument for the conservatives. She offers only inflammatory rhetoric, name calling, bulling-viciously lopsided views without a single thought to actually STRENGTHENING the point she's trying to make. She's the conservative Jon Stewart - minus the humor and irony. Amusing to watch and her "insightful witty" words definitely result in delighted guffaws amongst the neocons - but ultimately she detracts from the conservative argument, and pushes the centrists a bit left. She's become the embodiment of the American stereotype of the conservative. Loud, mean, selfish and absolutely unconcerned about anything other than making money.

Okay - yes, they do take things that already exist and hammer on them. But let me bring up a Kerry case. You remember the quote (hammered by EVERYbody) Where Kerry said "As a matter of fact, I was before the war before I was against it." Now, anyone with any ounce KNOWS what he was actually saying: "I was for the war at first, but after learning some additional information, I changed my mind." The left will run out a Bush quote like: "Our children is learning," as something to laugh at. It was obviously a mis-speak, but so perfectly timed (as a poor time to show horrific grammer while talking about children's advancement in education) to make it hilarious. In Kerry's case, the right didn't use it as something funny. It was run out as a 'flip-flop' - as something that showed he was an idiot who could think one thing one second, but something else the next second. You never knew when he would change his stance on an important issue, therefore unworthy as a leader. For me, I would expect my leader to always demand new information, to learn more and delve deep into the issues, and, if discovering new information made them draw a new conclusion BASED on the new information - I would want them to do it. Instead, it seemed as if the right-wing chant was that they did NOT want ANYthing to affect their leader's ideology. Now, I KNOW that isn't true - conservative or liberal - you want your leaders to think, move and change tactics with all information at their disposal. But for Coulter, Limbaugh, O'Reilly and all others of that ilk - the STATEMENT became the argument - not the spirit of what was being said. It was as if they CHOSE to lead their right-wing listeners down a path that left no thought process possible in a leader. Only a straight-march down a straight line. And if that meant we were to be lemmings going over a cliff - so be it. THAT'S my argument with them. What they were saying was wrong, and they knew it. And they didn't care. So long as people kept listening to them and buying their books, they didn't care.
Oh no - that's NOT what I was defending. The only thing I will say in a PARTIAL defense of her is that often times she runs out clips of what people say, and attacks that. Like what I said about Kerry. She (and everyone else) played the clip, then attacked WHAT was said. But she, Limbaugh and O'Reilly will right run those clips and attack DESPITE their full knowledge of what was actually BEING said.
Earlier I said that she never has a true, valid conservative argument - only vicious rhetoric and lopsided viewpoints twisted to sell her latest book. Two different things.
Whew. Couldn't bear to think of YOU thinking I would defend anything said by Anne Coulter. (lol) And I thought you realized by now that both your AND my comments were being voted down on a regular basis. I've been trying to figure out who it is. I'm down to two possibilities. They always vote down anything said by you or me, vote up any spiteful conservative comment. It's gotten way out of hand, but I suppose it's something that will eventually stop. I guess I should break down and start doing that to people, but I always considered it classless unless what was said was offensive - not simply something I disagreed with.

If she said all that (said rhetorically, because I believe you), her comments sound more polemic than Don's Imus infamous comment about the texture of some young basketball players' hair and allegations about what they do to make money on the side in socially unacceptable ways.
What I wonder is why did people not make an even bigger fuss about Anne's comments if they are really true and not hearsay? It seems if she really said those things she would have been driven out of town in front of a hot poker as quickly as her skinny legs could carry her.

I would so marry the women :D
The "women"?
There's more than one of her?
Doesn't the 1st Amendment in the US prohibit banning people from free speech?

Anne Coulter is not really a "shock jock" but the answer is still, "no."
No, but you certainly would like to put a sock in it. They may talk but that doesn't mean one has to listen or take them seriously.
