I never knew they took it away.
Yeah, I think it's still available in Canada if you ask for it. I notice they have double Macs on the menu, too.
If people want it, let them have it. They know it's unhealthy, if they choose to eat it anyway it's their problem. McDonalds should not feel the need to nanny it's customers, nor should they feel responsible or be held accountable for the actions of an informed populace.
Just as long as MY insurance premiums don't go up--we don't have free health care here.
OMG that could happen? I swear, the world never fails to kick up something every day that shocks me.
Sure. The health system here is based on not giving care. The more care provided, the higher the premiums are. It is a for-profit system, you see.
That does suck mightily.
Yip. And it means that someone like me, who finds it repugnant, has to mind other people;s business even if I don't want to.
The problem is somehow the insurance companies have gotten us believing that we should monitor everyone else's behavior and choices for financial reasons. That's just wrong. It's another form of chipping away at our freedoms - and they're getting us to chip away at our own ability to make those choices. My heavens - they've literally got us bitching at our neighbors over their food choices because we might end up paying, what? Another .03 cents a year? Any more then that - they're just making an excuse to hike your premium and giving you a bulls**t excuse. It's yet another form of distraction from the real issue - their premiums costs are spiraling, and they're corporate bonusing and stock dividending away and telling us all that money they're charging is because SOMEbody's eating McDonald's Super Sized fries.
As long as it is a for-profit system, heavy users will drive up costs.
So they tell us, and point to things that make some people bigger users than others. There's a lady I know, works out every day. Her husband is a diabetic, so she cooks and eats whatever is good for him. Her health care has cost insurance companies more in the last year than mine has in my life. I know a lot of people like that. It's malarkey. They love to point at fat people. They used to point at people who didn't wear seat belts as the reason that car insurance went up. It's all different methods of distract and gouge.
If the point is to NOT provide care, and someone needs care that will get you sued if you don't provide it, the only way to offset the hit your profits take is to raise premiums. It's no that they couldn't provide sufficient car without raising premiums, it's that they can't keep the same, ever-increasing profit levels.
They still have it. They just don't call it that on the menu anymore, primarily because of the "Supersize Me" book/movie/etc...
We definitely don't have it here anymore, there's just regular or large. They don't do the Megamac anymore either or double quarterpounders. Seems a little silly when you consider the cardiac arrests wrapped in pitta bread you can get at any kebab shop.
Actually, the demise of the Megamac is good, it was in itself disgusting, and seeing someone attempt to eat - ugh - it looked like reverse chunk blowage.
If someone wants to get fat then w/e, it is not me, i will stick with what it regularly comes with.... or maybe hit up Wendy's where i can substitute the large ass fries for a Salad or some Chili...
And ironically, McDonald's is always targeted for being the fat one but they are the only one of the major chains that serves healthy shit like apples and milk for the kids...
I hate McDonalds!
