Neither did mine, however, apparently we both had very involved parents. Unfortunately, there are way too many (a majority of?) parents who let society raise their children (teachers/peers/peer parents) and aren't fully engaged in their children. These kids all to often become disrespectful, disruptive, and disobedient. Once a child becomes this way, the only way I've found to get their undivided attention, so that they can learn another way to behave, is a swat on the bottom (bare-handed, always)
It should be illegal for a child that has never been disciplined to hit their parent...or cuss them out...or push their mom around, because they don't respect her...it's a problem
Who is raising our kids? If a child can go to school and tell the teacher he got a spanking and the parent goes to jail? There is a difference between discipline and child abuse. Ask people in their 50s, 60s and 70 and up about spanking.
A spanking is a good teaching tool if not over done. Government should keep it's nose out of child raising. If a crime has been committed then they should step in, otherwise back-off!
not unless you want to outlaw being a good parent
My parents were wonderful parents and never laid a hand on me or my brother.
Spanking hardly equates being a good parent, if anything, it's a cop out.
