Should Iran agree to dismantle its nuclear program (as asked "nicely" by the UN) ? Ask a Question

Should they? Well sure they should. I can't see why they would though. They need every tactic they can get right now. And hey, it worked for North Korea.

For me it comes down to a matter of Principal.

George has been throwing his weight around just a bit too much. If I was Iran there's no way I'd do as George and his schoolyard gang, said.

I'd probably go down in a screaming heap, but, I'd make sure I hurt George as much as I could beforehand.

Who knows? There might even be others who have also had enough. They could step in and help me a bit. Give George the hiding he's been asking for.

I'm not a Muslim and my answer is 'No'! No way!

I think Iran should, as well as everyone else. Why should the US be the elitist power in the world that can keep their crap, but everyone else has to give theirs up? That makes no sense.

The US isn't the only nation with nuclear weapons.

Nations with nuclear weapons: USA, Russia, UK, France, China, North Korea, India, Pakistan, Israel

Nations with nuclear weapons 'sharing' programs: Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Turkey, Canada, Greece

Greece left nuclear sharing program in 2001 and Canada at 1984. Lots of countries do have technology to create nuclear weapons and doesnt do so why would Iran be any different?

(Israel didnt confirm it does have nuclear weapons officialy yet)

I say they drop it for now and start it again more low profile in the future.

Well then, go edit Wikipedia. I wasn't saying anything bad about anyone - I was merely quoting that the US isn't the only nuclear nation. Far from it.

As for the government of Iran - they have the right to do whatever they wish. Perhaps the real goal is to receive more aid and attention from other nations. The fact that they are oil rich makes the claim of nuclear power rather dubious - but that has nothing to do with my opinion. They have the right to go nuclear if they wish. Whenever they wish. But like Greece and Canada, and South Africa, and Bosnia, and many other former nuclear nations, maybe they just wanted the benefits that come with NOT being a nuclear power. There are many. And being a FORMER nuclear nation, or being a nation that surrenders the active pursuit of nuclear weapons does have its financial benefits.

i am a muslim. i wanted to say that iran should accept it but i voted no. it was a mistake, and why iran or every other country should accept what Usa and israel want? because they are stronger? they want the world for themself! excuse me but why Israel does have Nuclear power and weapon and no one wants them to dismantle its nuclear program?...

if Iran dismantle its nuclear program she will show the world that we are clear! my answer is YES!

Hey Saeed! Long time no see! Glad to see you back.

thanks Man! i am a student and i was busy with the exams. thank u so much again! it's good to be with u friends!

UN & IAEA could be strict for Iran to put her hands in to her ears and cough up what she got.

But that shouldn't happen & Iran is or perhaps not signatory on CTBT.

UN gears to monitor & report on Nuclear Technology is chartered under None-Proliferation Treaty.

Why Georgy Porgie should use UN as their watch dog for Iran, when back yard is filled with bent arrows?

I don't think UN has strong moral case against Iran or any other country,if their Nuclear oversight is not the same across board.

It has a religious component, linked with this Opinion.

So I wouldn't be able to vote. Sorry!

But,read my other note there, for my possible answer :)
