I remember the tension of the Cuban Missile Crisis--my father was a top person at NORAD at the time--and the relief of the SALT treaty. It was an evil day when Rumsfeld began dismantling Kissinger's work. Oh, and that was under Ford, so it's not Bush-bashing (not entirely, anyway)
