Why would we bother calling republicans names other then republican, I can't think of a bigger insult then that.

I like double meanings ;)

Because conservatives are not all republicans, and I would find it insulting if someone ignored that in questions by setting up Liberals Vs Republicans.

Good point. Libertarians are at least conservative as a large part of the Republican party, and, on this site at least, by far the rudest members. If you are Libertarian and not one of that group (And so far, you are not!), then this obviously doesn't apply to you personally.

What I find interesting is that libertarians teamed up with evangelicals and visa versa.

Perhaps it does. It is always interesting to watch at least one member here suddenly start responding reasonably when he has again offended so many people no one will talk to him.

You can start off by anyone that refers to you as waugs. To the neo-cons, it's an insult. To the liberal intelligencia, it's a compliment. Waugs was a Canadian that waged battle with Jonmarc, WiseOne, Wingnutt, april, et al and would roast them with his wit, facts, and scattering of fucks, shits, etc. He left maybe 3 months ago, but is still held in high regard..

april does sometimes. The rest pretty much stay the same. Sometimes Wing is OK, but you can tell when you have him by the short hairs. The conversation is then over. Jonmarc just insults, like WiseOne.

Even JonMarc makes the occasional less-than-insulting remark. It never lasts, and should not be trusted. It's like when wife beaters say they love the object of their abuse, not to believed or trusted.

Apart from actual name-calling, I think this lies in the eye of the beholder.
