islam always emphasized on peace for every human...but if Muslims are under attack they SHOULD defend themself! those stupids Taliban or Hamas or any muslim who sacrifice him/herself is not a REAL Muslim!
I suppose you could read the Koran/Hadith that way. But there sure are an awful lot of Muslims who got a whole different understanding of Islam than you...
an AWFUL LOT? really CDog? you know what percentage of the worlds population is muslim? and you know what percentage of muslims are terrorist radicals? i guarantee its less than 1% of the worlds population...
Let's go with your number of 1% of all Muslims are terrorists.
Therefore there are 15 Million Muslim terrorists. I would call that a lot.
Of course the reality is that the numbers of people sympathetic to the ideology but not an active terrorist is much higher, and much scarier. Take this poll for example:
Just a quick search here, but apparently 25% of younger US Muslims believed that suicide bombings are acceptable in at least some circumstances when it comes to defending their religion.

God is Great! I 100% agree with you @saeed. Hamas is not real muslims or worriers... they are bunch of selfish bastards. God knows best. If they are real muslims they should fight face to face, instead of resorting to this sort of tactics where innocent lives are killed (murdered)

I would not call islam peace. The holy scriptures of islam say a lot of hatefull things, especially about people that do not believe in islam. I find "justice" based on strict sharia law appalling. Of course one can take the peacefull parts of islam, as most muslims do who are peaceloving people who just happen to born in communities where it is almost impossible to escape from islam, but when you take the not so nice parts literally you can use them as an nspiration/justification for agression, human rights violations and inequality. Therefore I think islam (as well as christianity btw) is a danger to peace.
Atheists have killed as well, it is not the religion that is evil, they are just people that believe they do it for the "right reasons", religion is just one of those reasons, although it might seem to be the more common reason.
Surely atheists have killed, and surely most muslims will never do, but that is besides the point. What I meant is the intrinsic danger I see in a religion such as islam. So although atheists might have been involved in war crimes and terrorist acts, I have yet to be shown the first war or suicide bomb that was waged in the name of atheism.

That list is impressive - (though not completely accurate, for instance the many murders by Saddam Hussein had little to do with Islamic terrorism). But that does not matter, I don't know the number of people that died because of which hunts, crusades or because the catholic church tried to prevent the use of condoms. But still I am not talking about numbers but about the danger that lies within religion. Perhaps today Islam is (mis)used to murder and bomb, but tomorrow it could be christianity.

Islam the 'religion' is being corrupted and USED by Islamofacists wanting absolute power as in intergenerational method of penetration into the minds and actions of it's adherents, inculcating violence, destruction, poverty, humiliation and subjugation.
Yes and that is exactly why I am not a fan of any religion. Though I think some are more harmfull than others and islam is one of those. I argue that any religion that leaves the possibility for its scriptures to be interpretated into hate, agression, opression or discrimiation is a religion that has something wrong at its core.
I agree with you that you have to judge the follower of a religion (like atheists) based on their actions.
Jonmarc, Could you stop assuming that these are my beliefs? Just because i post a question doesn't mean it always reelects what i believe. So don't tell me what i think is "misguided" when you have no idea WHAT i believe.
No, Islam=submission (to the will of God). ;)
No more so than Christianity=Peace.
That is 100 percent correct.

Sorry, I don't agree. War is waged for economic reasons, and reasons of power and control. Religion is just a useful excuse, and a means of control.
I agree with Mabie. Religion, since it's conception, has caused more death and misery than any other reason.
Islam the 'religion' is being corrupted and USED by Islamofacists wanting absolute power as in intergenerational method of penetration into the minds and actions of it's adherents, inculcating violence, destruction, poverty, humiliation and subjugation.
Those attempts are made by followers of all religions (even Christians) Judge the individual on their actions, not their religion.

"means of control"
Dogmatic and brutal at one end, overly passive and uninvolved at the other.
