Some of the side effects are severe swelling and redness where the shot was given, headaches and all over bodily aches and pains all which last for a couple of days.
I've had plenty of them too. I have never had any of the reactions the researchers making the new vaccine say is going to happen. This is more than likely a whole new batch of experimentation. I'm not going to get one. I stopped taking flu shots 8 years ago when it stopped being a requirement where I work. Never had the flu.
"This is more than likely a whole new batch of experimentation."
On what are you basing that observation? There isn't any reason why it should be different. Every year the vaccine is created based on the expected dominant strain. There's nothing different about this year in that respect. The strain is a new one, yes but it is still influenza and the inoculation process is the same as always.
My point is, don't trust a lot of what you're reading on this point. There's a lot of fear mongering going on from folks trying to raise the spectre of the mid 70s vaccine problems.

Your point is partially right. It was from one source but it was supposedly from one of the head researchers working on the vaccine. They were citing the results from the people they used it on to test it. Also in the article, it was stated that none of the other previous flu vaccines had such strong side effects as this one and they still aren't sure it's going to be effective. They are under a lot of pressure from every where to get it done.
I caught the flu about 14 years ago and I have never been sicker in my life. High fever, snot continuously running down my face, eyes watering 24/7, no appetite, listless, tired, puny, feeling faint, missed four days of work.... no thanks, now that I am older, it would probably kill me - I take my chances with the shots from then on.

Which would be worse, the shot or the flu?
Why would it be any different than any other flu vaccine? I've had them plenty of times.
I always get them, they are free and I have not had the flu since I have been getting the vaccines.

LOL! There you go, a typical canadian, "... they are free..."
Yo, Dude, NOTHING IS FREE, NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH - THE GOV PAID FOR THAT FLU SHOT WITH YOUR FREAKING TAX MONEY, YOU SOCIALIST DO-DO!
In the fall, what do you think the price will be for the flu shot in the US, SHETHEAD?
