I enjoy The Amazing race and sometimes Survivor. A lot of these shows are utter crap and it's alarming that people watch them and have their minds affected by seeing such disgusting behavior. Some I'm neutral on like the ones for chefs, clothing designers, dancers, etc. They will probably last a long time because they are cheaper to produce.

I also like Survivor and The Amazing Race. It really shows you the dark side of a lot of people. I really don't like Russell on survivor, but I was rooting for him for the last couple of weeks. He found the idol again. Loved the way the other team was so shocked and loved that Laura was voted out. I also like Dancing With the Stars. I am going to watch American Idol next time but not from the beginning. To many horrible acts.
There is a very good small scale Swedish reality show callled Halv Åtta Hos Mig (7.30 at my place) In which four people take it in turn to invite each other to a home cooked dinner. I think it is called Come Dine with Me in the uk - don't know if it exists elsewhere.
Reality TV at its best. Nice people doing something pleasant. We even get some practical home cooking ideas along the way.
Also good is Draknästet - in the UK Dragon's Den - in which people with buisness ideas attempt to persuade investors to join them.

The best ones make you care who wins. American Idol is the biggest of that lot.
The worst are the soap operas like Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
I used to be a big fan of Trading Spaces, but it eventually felt old and formulaic.
I thought everyone hated reality shows nowadays. For me, The Amazing Race and Survivor are two of like 5 or 6 shows that I watch at all.

Another good show is Vem Tror Du att Du Är? - a copy of the UK Who Do You Think You Are? Each show follows a celeb tracing their familly history.
