Racism is only a byproduct of religion.

Religion is often used to excuse racism, it is not the cause of it. That, most likely, lies in the innate suspicion of strangers that is part of our biological heritage. Like most such, it is not an absolute, nor does that excuse continuing to allow mere biological tendency (TENDENCY, not absolute) to rule our minds.

Hear, hear. The Christian hate mongers in the USA act in the name of Jesus or God. Religion sucks.
