Maybe im an optimisit... but I believe political parties strive to better the country.
I joke about Hillary Clinton being the devil, but really I know she isnt (I mean, she prob. just has lunch with him once a week or something) - But anyhow, my point is, in a democratic society, we should respect those with whom we disagree and recognize that they arent out to destroy the world or the country or to starve the poor or to send America to hell or whatever...
Whether or not you disagree political leaders, it is important to realize that they (as a general rule) are seeking to better society... but everyone has a different conception of how to do that. So, we end up with political disagreements and necissary public policy debates. This encourages wise decision making and good governance.
So my point is, I believe in federalism as handed down to us in the federalist papers. As was said by Hamilton (or Madison perhaps), factions are destructive, but when all factions are given free reign to compete for the public support, and are held in bounds by certain checks, then we will see a better world.
So... Im an optimisit, but I believe in the republican democratic ideals.
