Would your paradise have the least number of people on it, who were just nice. Or, as the numbers of people increase, so does their quality in all kinds of ways; until you have an island which is not exactly barren, but does at least have the very best people you could possibly imagine, sharing it with you: so, the more people on your paradise island, the more they have the qualities that you love in the people you value the most in life! That being said, how would you answer this, and any thoughts as to why you answered it so?
As ever, all comments on this question are very welcome.
Thank you. :-)
(ps, this is a question which I consider more difficult to answer with the more thought which is put into it. It's a question of trade-offs and compromises. And I'm not at all sure what others would answer...yet!)
For me the tipping point would be the size of the island. I wouldn't want to live on an island as densely populated as Java, for instance (2,100 people per square mile) or as sparsely populated as Greenland (about .05 people per square mile). Over 500 is great if your island is big enough to support a couple of large settlements and some outliers.
