That's why they call it 'Death Valley.' Record high: 134 Fahrenheit (56.7 C)
Longest hot spell: 43 consecutive days over 120 F (48 C)
And of course, in other parts of the country get pretty hot as well. I remember one particular day in San Bernardino when it was 115 in the shade and I was doing tear-down for an outdoor show.

Ha ha, yea, I bet 44 degrees is a decent day in Kuwait.
By the way, I know what you're saying, Winters here usually never got that cold either. It seems every year the temp falls a little more for a little longer. We rarely broke 32F and we've done it 3 times so far this year, with another freeze expected tomorrow.

October - Early December it's around 20-40.
Mid-December - Late January, 0-20.
February - April at 20-40. Though are winters seem to get colder and colder, but less rain.
Of course, we're used to it. To us, 15 degrees is when we put on 2 jackets lol
That is hot. It is strange for us so far south to have it so hot. But other parts of Aust.can reach those temperatures.

At 95 votes tabulated, 55% of Americans don't know, find it unlikely, or very unlikely.
Besides the fact that you can google this answer, it speaks volumes about the level of geographical knowledge in the country.

Down in Melbourne it is strange for us to have prolonged high temperatures so far south.
