On the day of her death, RNC filed suit against Obama for taking the campaign plane to visit his grandmother on her deathbed.

Is the problem that it happened on the day of her death, or that it happened at all? How much does a flight to wherever she was cost? You wanted to harp on Palin using campaign funds for clothes, I don't see how this would be any different.
A bit colder I suppose, and even less related to the actual campaign, but neither are the sort of thing campaign funds should be used for.
It is related to the campaign, being that he took everyone with him because he left straight from an event and returned straight to one. Should he have had the jet flown to the next campaign event and parked while he went to HI and everyone from the campaign went their separate ways? Then, what? They all reconvene back at the next event and resume use of the plane? Pay for all those commercial flights instead and give everyone less than 24 hours to go home and have a break? That's stupid. He kept it simple, kept everyone together and went from an event, to grandma's, to his next event. Makes sense to me. And has nothing to do with Sarah Palin's 150K wardrobe which flies in the face of her folksy image, which was the point. That and the fact that it is an excessive way to spend the money donated to the RNC. I doubt that's what the donors had in mind....a makeover? It would have been better spent on flash cards or books....

So, it's related to the campaign because he took everyone with him? You act as though Hawaii is a stopover on the way from one event to the next. It's not, it is as far out of the way as you can get.
It's clearly not campaign related, in theory he should have had the campaign jet fly on to the next location and then flown commercial or private on his own dime to Hawaii. I don't actually have a problem with him flying over to Hawaii to do this, as far I am concerned the campaign funds are his to do with as he wishes.
My point was that everyone bashed Palin for using Campaign funds for something they didn't deem campaign related, but now they want to bash the RNC for pointing out that Obama did the same thing. It's clearly hypocritical.
As a contributor to Obama's campaign I say its fine. Since he didn't take public finance I don't see why the Reps are getting involved. Its truly none of their business, or yours if you didn't donate. The problem with Palin and the 150K wardrobe was the hypocrisy ("hockey mom" with 150K outfits) not the legality. Grow up.
And he took his campaign staff and press because they flew straight from an event and straight back to one. Also, he made campaign announcements along the way. You guys are truly perverse and entertainingly desperate.
Ummm.... you may not have noticed this CDog, but regardless of its location, Hawaii is a STATE in the United States. So they're going to have a difficult time making the argument that he did something illegal.
I'm sorry... people like ME? Please show me ONE instance of me bashing Palin and her clothes buying. Just one will do.
As for implication, if you are talking about a suit, then you must be implying this is something for which they would have grounds to bring a suit, n'est ce pas?
People like you, not actually you. That's why it was like you.
I didn't imply anything was grounds for a suit. What the hell are you talking about? I said specifically, that I didn't call it illegal OR imply that it was. I don't think it's illegal, I don't even think there is anything wrong with what he did.

Tragic that she didn't get to see him elected.

Because Hawaii is totally on the way from event to event. It's just like quick stopover. It isn't in the middle of the Pacific or anything.

Thanks for that riveting piece of information. I had not realized that Hawaii was state.
It's also an very fortunate that I never called it illegal, or even implied it was. So I guess I don't have to worry about that argument.
It is Hypocrisy though. Not by Obama, but by people like you who bashed Palin and her clothes buying.

Hmm... if you don't mean me... then who are people "like" me? Please tell me what defines a person "like" me?
You said the RNC "filed suit." If you thought there was nothing to it, why bring it up? Just "Lib baiting" again? ;o)
I didn't write this question. PhxMike did. I never said anything about a suit.
People like you are rabid Obama supporters.
Oops, sorry. My bad.
Boy are you ever wrong. I was a Ron Paul supporter. So there goes your "hunch" judgement out the window.
I sure feel foolish now...
