I am over 55 and I do stay up later than that, but that ball does not interest me at all.

LOL... well, it's always been tradition here. I went to bed at 10pm, set the alarm for 11:55pm, watched the ball come down, then went back to bed.

Has it ever been stuck?

Good question -- the Wiki doesn't say.

Why did you choose age 55?

I wanted to see what people younger than me think ... and what people older than me think too.

It was lunch time, Thursday here.

What's it like to always come late ?

Darn.... I usually keep aware of the geography, but moreso on occasions like the 4th of July, or Labor Day, ...in fact, get much pleasure from making an ass of myself as I point it out on people's MySpace pages, ...now here it reaches up and bites me in the butt when I'm least expecting it.

To answer your question, awful. I feel like a real moron. I guess I'll put on the cap and go stand in the corner. :)

I could hear the helicopters on patrol from my apartment. The streets were a zoo, so I stayed in. I heard the noise when the ball dropped, though - from 13 blocks away!

You live in "the city"??? Wow, I'm impressed. I didn't know it makes noise when it drops.

I think she means the noise from all the people??

Exactly.

What's the emoticon for "duh"? o.O

I can't think of any reason I'd want to see a ball drop in New York at 9pm my time.

Makes sense. I guess it's different here being in the same time zone as NY.

Why would someone in a different time zone watch NY celebrate new years eve?
