They very fact that you are putting a requirement on marriage is discrimination. Saying "one man and one woman" is just like saying "one white and one white" or "one person taller that 5'10 and oner person taller that 5'10". By requiring a gender, you are discriminating.

Your statement is rather oxymoronic.... allowing people to marry creates a family unit..... not allowing them prevents it..... dumbass....

Honey, that's an adjective, not a noun....

Just to let you know, "33 percent of female same-sex couple households and 22 percent of male same-sex couple households reported at least one child" [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_parenting] [http://www.gaydemographics.org/USA/SF1_children.html]..... and that's in the 2000 census, i would believe the numbers have gone up.

And just curious, what would you call 1/3 of female, or 1/4 of male, couple households that have kids? Not a family right? A domestic household?, Civil parenting?

Well actually no, that is just religious ignorance in your head.

"Gay and lesbian parenting enjoys broad support from medical experts. Organizations that have officially supported adoption by same-sex couples include the American Psychological Association, the Child Welfare League of America, the American Bar Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the National Association of Social Workers, the North American Council on Adoptable Children, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Psychoanalytic Association, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.[3]"

The American Psychological Association states in its Resolution on Sexual Orientation, Parents, and Children (adopted July 2004):

there is no scientific evidence that parenting effectiveness is related to parental sexual orientation: lesbian and gay parents are as likely as heterosexual parents to provide supportive and healthy environments for their children"; and "research has shown that the adjustment, development, and psychological well-being of children is unrelated to parental sexual orientation and that the children of lesbian and gay parents are as likely as those of heterosexual parents to flourish."[1]

It has always made me laugh how you people make up random facts and statistics to prove a point. Isn't that lying? And isn't that a sin?

You would make a good televangelist, April.

You could be the new Santa Jesus sent down from heaven to save us from the gays!

She ain't Santa, bitch is the Grinch.

Marriage is between a man and a woman. Same sex unions are civil, and should not be discriminated against. They should be legal and hold all rights as a marriage. We are entitled to an opinion without being called names, yet the left does not like choice unless it is to kill a unborn baby.

Your statement is very contradictive.... you are not allowing same-sex couples the "choice" to get married.

This life is full of discrimination, hollering about it on here isn't going to change it.

Starting a fire requires sparking a flame.... And it's entertaining to hear ignorant replies that you commonly make...

And it's rather ridiculous that you would vote down my first comment... it's shows your intolerance....

For what its worth, I voted it up.

Get over yourself cool. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Did you ever think that you could be wrong?

An opinion can't be wrong, it's not a fact.....

Hitler didn't think so.

huh?

When he rounded up homosexuals and put them in the death damps, I am sure Hitler did not think it discriminatory, but rather a cleansing. Like many of the hatred idolators in this country.

April would have loved living under a conservative leader such as Hitler.

She wouldn't have to hide from gays, gypsies, Russians, Poles, or any other scary monsters trying to molest her on a daily basis.
