My friend is blaming me for her severe depression. She claims that political conversations are the reason. Am I to blame?

even though political conversations can cause anger in some and depression in others, I am sure you are not causing your friend severe depression. There are probably other reasons. It is selfish on the friends part to try and make you feel guilty. That isn't a very nice thing for a friend to do. Maybe this person isn't really a friend after all.
I agree. We have political "conversations" here all the time, yet if anyone ends up with severe depression as a result of such "conversations" it's a very safe bet they had mental problems long before they found this site.
If I got depressed over an opinion site, I would quit going there. If you want opinions of others to agree with you all the time, don't go on opinion sites of any kind.
If this blaming you for this, is not typical of her. Or of all the other conversations etc., you have with her about why she feels depressed or anxious she doesn't blame it on anybody else. Or you notice that she tends to be the "victim" a lot. If none of this is typical, than it would seem, that she just finds political conversations too confrontational, and really doesn't like that. She doesn't know how, perhaps, to steer the conversation away. Or you are very adament or enthusiatic about politics and won't pick up her clues. She is being honest, and is trying to be more blunt in hopes you'll get the message.

Depression is very dangerous to her, she should see her doctor for advice.
Or find one if she doesn't have one already.
Horse puckey.
Your politics probably aren't helping the matter, but they probably aren't the root cause, either.
Another Bushie losing control. Be careful. If she mentions Iceland or Guam, run for your life!!
perhaps King Obama is making her depressed?
Perhaps. Perhaps, it's the neo-con drivel that she is forced to listen to. Remember how depressed the USA was between 2001-2009?
Are you and dauguy the same ID? It seems that you and her are the only two that steadily talk that neo-con drivel.
Squawkk! What are you, a parrot?
No way this is possible. St Obama is a very nice man. :)
Dump her. She is unstable and her mother dresses her funny.
LOL hahahahahaaaaaa!!! :-)
