He doesn't have to be a criminal.

Nor does she need to be a "he"

Nor does she need to be human at all.

"He" is a generic term that is proper to use when referring to someone of unknown or potentially either gender. The workarounds to avoid it in English are awkward at best, because of the lack of a non-gender-specific set of pronouns.

Could anyone disagree with this statement of the blindingly obvious?

I posted the question because some religious extremist claim to have a monopoly on morals, I want to see how many there are as a percentage of the population.

Among the countries with a Christian cultural traditition only the USA has a substantial minority of primitive religious fanatics. Why is this? I am reluctant to believe that your country has a higher proportion of stupid or ignorant people and would be grateful for an explanation.

It would probably help if you didn't think of them as primitive. They are more like Shi'a Muslims. The pastors and members serve a more prophetic function than is found in mainline denominations.

A Christian leader often reads scripture, then says some variation of "This is the Word of God!" The Pentecostal will practice Glossolalia, (a form of speaking in tongues) then another person will interpret by starting like "The Lord proclaims that... " Then the interpreter says in his most God like voice, whatever he thinks God says. This leads to a host of oddball beliefs, some of them even biblically based. There is no theological guidance given.

Most mainline denominations have a book of practice that explains their belief system. Pentecostals and many Baptists don't. These groups got on TV early and often so have an influence far beyond their numbers.
