Since I use Google for 95% of my lookup needs I don't care if they buy Yahoo or not. I don't see it affecting me except when I go buy a new pc and then have to spend the first two days figuring out how to uninstall all the junk software that comes with a new pc. This is one thing I really like about Ubuntu. When you install Ubuntu you don't get any of the crappy software Windows users think they HAVE TO run. You don't have to run it. It really will totally uninstall. It can be a pain but the rewards are great.
With the new pc I just bought it kept booting to a Yahoo search. After a few tweaks, bye-bye Yahoo. Hello Google.

No, i don't want to see this happen. It will ruin both Microsoft and Yahoo. Google is way too powerful to compete against.
I hate monopolies. Things tend too loose their interest when they are monopolized. I admire Google for what it is and what it does, but I don't want it to run the Internet. The Internet should be run by the masses and for that to happen, the Internet should be competitive.
