Not that I'm a computer genius, but even I can see that knowing about the internet and some basic technology is vital to understanding future legislation. I hope he trusts his advisors. Will they all be as old as he is, like my grandmother advising him? "At this point even France is ahead of us. France, the scourge of Republicans and veterans alike, now has broadband that's four times as fast—and half the price."
John McCain
The 100-Word Version:
McCain thinks the market should determine the fate of the net, so government-mandated "neutrality" would be too much of an intervention. He also voted against renewable energy. He voted in favor of federal funding to get more tech in classrooms, yet he wants to be hands off in closing the digital divide. This is also the same man who is self-proclaimed as computer illiterate, and almost went broke before primaries even began.
Bonus Bits: McCain expects to be in Iraq for over 100 years. No matter what opinion you have on the war, just think about all the crazy gadgets they'll be fighting with then!
If McCain were a gadget, he'd be: a Motorola StarTAC cellphone. Once relevant and desired, both are woefully underpowered now, and backed by a company in financial turmoil.
A lot of people do not grasp what some companies are trying to do, I would expect some one like McCain to understand the issues, I am surprised he does not. However I hope that next year we will see the old McCain back in the Senate, working on those issues that he does understand.
Is he indifferent to technology in the same way that you are indifferent to what constitutes "Archeological Evidence".
Atlantis, lol.
McCain can't run a computer. Obama can't fly a jet fighter. So what?

Einstein couldn't make change for a loaf of bread out of $1. Tell us it mattered to the theory of relativity and the other great contributions to society. Example, this direct quote, "Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from weak minds." - Einstein
I am more concerned about the complete indifference of anything perceived as not flattering to or in support of BHObama by the guardians of our freedom: the press. After the election may be too late. Majoring on the minors of using a computer is shallow compared to what is going on. Nearly ONE BILLION DOLLARS being spent to buy the White House.....unheard of even for rich repubs.
Nick, the one that big business feels is going to do them the best is going to get elected. Big Business is running the show.
