If you like/love the person there should be no limit on how many presents you should buy them. Buy whatever you can afford if you know your gifts will be used and appreciated. If you are buying for them only because you will feel guilty if you don't, then one present should suffice; one present may be one too many if you are only buying only because you will feel guilty if you don't.
