I bet many people vote for the health care bill just to see Limbaugh leave. I have my fingers crossed.

Hell no--that would make too many good people happy.

Haha!!! Either he's packing now... or he's just a big fat liar!!! ;)

The original statement was "Rush Limbaugh says he’ll leave the United States for medical treatment if the health care reform passes and his fears about the program come to fruition."

Not quite the same thing, is it kiddies.

No, it isn't.

Specifically I believe he mentions running to Costa Rica for his health care. Interestingly, their health care is socialized. I guess the rich bastard just plans to suck off someone else's taxes for his Oxycontin.

For anyone else who cares to hear the the transcript, here it is:

Interestingly, Costa Rica is practically a colony of the US. Look at its history if you don't beleive it. And THEY have SOCIALIZED MEDICINE?!?!?! really lets us know how they think about us, don't it.

So if he is RIGHT he will leave? Not a chance. He'll make himself President over it.

Where does he think he will go ?

Having just read JW's comment I think we have begun to celebrate too early. I bet he's NOT going to leave. <sniff>

Well, it was a pleasant thought, eh? :)

He presents a more believable view, very different from the point-of-view my Catholic nuns expressed in catechism classes.

Could the fact we were only nine years old at the time have had anything to do with their naive approach to the topic? Or were they just stupid and they assumed we were even more stupid? :)

I believe there are 2 factors at work. The Roman Catholic Church is a huge organization and nuns have given their lives over to the Church in order to serve God. The Catholics are extremely successful and do a lot of things right. (Though I disagree with some of what they do.) By the time the clergy in the Catholic church has reached spiritual maturity, they are too invested to push against the status quo. Second, as you suggest, your curriculum was designed for the average 9 year old and is entirely inadequate for adults. I'd wager that greeneyegirl79 could give you more information on how adult Catholics deal with some of the things we have been discussing.

"OMG!!!!!! IT CAN"T BE!!!!

JonMarc is RUSH LIMBAUGH!!!!!

And how many liberals left after saying they would leave the country if Bush got a second term?

Well, I never heard a single one say that. And I know you don't know any, so neither did you.

Actually, several of them did say this, although the election referred to was the 2000, not the 2004.

And is this another attempt to start something with me? My saying what I said is not some bizarre tirade, or an invitation for you to start with me.

PS Did you know all antitheists are morally bankrupt and devoid of decency? Two can certainly play that game.

The problem is that there is a great deal of evidence that antitheists are moral and decent--and a great deal of evidence that religious people are hypocrites. So if you want to play that game and maybe even score a point, you have to say something true about antitheists that they would find derogatory. Otherwise, you aren't playing in the same league.

Yeah, hun, don't think there is anything antitheists could find derogatory, is there? See, since I am not one, I really wouldn't know what they could possibly find derogatory and such.

And by the way, saying the religious are hypocrites, so what, I don't think I ever disagreed with that. As I have stated previously, there are many groups who can be hypocritical, it is not a disease unto the religious only, it is human defect if you ask me, so my only issue was singling out one group as hypocrites.

I wasn't trying to be in anyone's league mind you, Translate was trying to get under my skin, and he previously went to great lengths to tell me he never said that and yadda yadda yadda, so yeah, I was playing the go round and round game with him Do you not remember the long round and round "thing" we had about that hypocrisy issue, I am sure you do?

Excuse me, but the last time I checked this ISN’T a formal debate with a set of rules for things. I WASN’T trying to refute what you said, I DIDN’T AGREE and made that clear, but was then trying to point out a LIMITATION to a statement. If that is enlarging the topic or statement, nothing wrong with that. YOU seem to have the problem with that and got bothered because you felt “that not what I said!” I ended up pointing out the limited scope of the statement and the fact it can be expanded to include something more, you even stated that is what I ended up doing, and really, why are you so mad about that?

**And to be clear - do I think religious people can be hypocritical, YES, but do I think being religious means you will necessarily be a hypocrite or hypocritical, NO.

You seem to think that my arguing with a statement “x” you make and stating I believe “y” is some sort of challenge to you for a denial on your part of what you said or a repudiation of you, it ISN’T. You seem to, I don’t know really, what, expect me to change your mind or give you proof to agree with me by winning some sort of argument contest. I DON’T expect you to agree with me, or say, you know what you are right. I expect you to tell me what you think, and yeah, allow me to say, wait wait, but I think this without telling me I am “fucked up.”

The other day a guy calls in to his show saying that now his 4 year old with a life threatening pre-exisiting condition can get help and isn't that a good thing. the guys said "I would rather be 47th in line than be in no line at all." The sub for Limbaugh talked for 5 minutes on the issue and never addressed it - he just said vague things like "you have to look at the bigger picture". Ya, well those withouts are tired of looking at a bigger picture - they need to be real!
