I have a dog who will turn 16 this spring, is beautifully housebroken and loves to see me every morning. She doesn't want a car for her birthday. I have a nephew who's 19. He's already totaled three cars and got mad at me because I wouldn't write his school report for him.
I like my dogs. Every Christmas I borrow other people's kids and take them to the zoo for the light show. We ride the train, I fill them with sugar and hot chocolate and give them presents. That does me for the year. (lol)

Neither really, but a dog if I had to!
I have always loved both.
If you need to ask which to choose, then choose a dog.
Children are for a lifetime and they need endless unconditional love.
Go with the dog....cheaper and easier.
Have one of each so the dog will have something to chew on.
I have 2 grandchildren and 5 dogs. They are all great - wouldn't give up any of them.
