It is shameful or wrong for a healthy man over 30 to work in stores or fast food places as their primary source of income? Ask a Question

He has a job and is working for a living. Would someone find that shameful?

Working and supporting yourself and family is never shameful.

That said, the U.S. is a classist society. So some people will look down on him for it. But they are just assholes, and don't count.

My Son started with Toys R Us while he was at school. He was with Toys for 10 years and became a Store Manager in a large shopping centre.

The skills and confidence the training gave him has helped set him up in a small business. He is self employed now and he loves it.

Not only was the training good for him, but he worked with so many people who are a network of probably life long friends.

I don't get it, sorry ?

What is a 30 year old supposed to be doing ?

I didn't know the USA is so classist.

Gee ! I hope we don't become too much like that.

I think we see people's work as a job that needs to be done.

Wow, these are some interesting answers.

I was thinking more along the lines of whether it's okay to lack the desire to have a more challenging and ambitious career around that age than I was about the classist side of the issue.

It's very enlightening to see a more worldwide view of the matter.

At least they are working!
