I remember this girl in my class was all "Obama.... abortion easier..." and some non-scene like that. And she was talking about Bush supposedly making [signing into law] it harder to get abortions, which i can't confirm or find on the Internet. And more yada-yadda, a couple drops of "pro-life" and stuff, then i said "i think it's rather hypocritical to say that your 'pro-life' but support the death penalty". And she said something about democrats do that to, and i said "i never said anything about democrats or republicans, all i said is that i think it's hypocritical to say your 'pro-life' but support the death penalty".
what is the definition of pro?:
"in favor of..." [http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pro]
So then yes, it would be hypocritical to say that you are [in favor of]-life but support the death penalty.

What I said before, young man!
I immediately thought of that Tyler Oakley's video when I saw the question. Nice touch of you to link to it. :)

You apparently equate the life of a convicted murderer with that of an innocent unborn child. So, to you it would be hypocritical.
To further salve your guilt feelings you will refer to the unborn child as a fetus. Who can object to killing a fetus?
All men are created equal. Now I know I've heard that somewhere before, Mike... where could it have been? Must be some the credo of some commie pinko pro-choice country, right?
The convicted murder is a human being. The innocent child is a human being. Therefore they are, in the most basic sense, equal, yes.
And to your question... lots of people object to killing a fetus.

On the other hand, the only countries that still have the death penalty are the United States, China and a handful of Arab states. I guess Jonmarc and MikeHend have more in common with the Arabs than they thought. ;o)

actually no, 64 countries have the death penalty, another 32 aswell, but have not excursived it for more than 10 years, and an additional 10 "abolished for all offenses except under special circumstances". Countries in the 64 category include such major countries as China, Japan, India, and of course, the U.S. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_penalty#In_specific_countries]. The only major cluster of nations who don't have the death penalty are in Europe, most of the world still has the death penalty enjoined.

No it is not hypocritical. Individuals who receive the death penalty made a choice, he or she chose not to value another person's life and therefore don't deserve life.
Like i said above you by saying you are "pro-life" you are saying you are "[in support of]-life", so don't try and bend the dictionary to make your opinion look better, all your doing is making yourslef look like a hypocrite.
