Typical class envy. Those who are succesful doing something you don't agree with MUST be going to Hell, I suppose.
Who are you addressing with this comment?

Can I refer you to the question about volunteers on the front page? Check out the 'Votes' tab, under 'income'. And most charitable contributions in this country are made by people who make less than $50K a year.
Being a Christian does not guarantee a spot in heaven.
Does your quotation define what being rich is ?
If I am barefoot in the snow then someone who has shoes would be considered rich.
We all have our concepts of what constitutes being rich, we may not consider ourselves rich but others will. If I recall, there is another parable in the New Testament where a man gives his servants, each a sum of money. The only that was chastised was the one who did nothing with it and did not increase the amount of money given to me.
--- I would also get a clarification on what you consider a Christian ? Is it simply someone who states that they are a Christian, or is there some criteria that is to be used to determine whether or not they really are one, or is it up to God to make that call.
I agree it is all relative to who you are and who you are looking at.
To many people in the third world, average western christians as a group would appear rich.
To those very same "average" folk, those above them in the social scale probably appear rich.
I suspect few people see themselves as rich, just better off than some, and worse off than others, until you get to those right at the top of the heap.
It is not for me to decide who is or is not a christian. If they claim to be so, and do not by their worlds or actions make it obvious that they are not, I tend to accept their claims.
What the writer was saying is, that when you love your riches more that or instead of God, it is hard to get into hHeaven. And just to let you all know, The "eye of a needle" is not a sewing needle. I nacient time most cities were walled with a gate. At night the gate was closed so that enemies could not attack. The eye of a needle was a smll entranceway wher only one person could enter at a time and where a camel would have an extremely difficult time of entering.
I have heard the gate theory before, but as far as I know, it is still just a theory, though one so often repeated it has almost become fact by repatition :)

Just another atheist trying to belittle Christianity. Garbage.
Keep your incorrect assumptions about my religious beliefs to yourself, O Grumpy Ancient One!
(Interesting that you call a quote from the bible garbage though. Percentage-wise how much of the bible do you consider to be garbage Mike?)
