Good video.

One of the best videos on this subject that I have seen. Good enough that my daughter, a certified teacher who home teaches her children will use it in her curriculum.

And what will she tell them when it comes to the part about people trading freedom for security and they ask her about the Patriot Act? What will she tell them when it comes to the part about some in the government taking powers for themselves they were not given by the constitution and they ask her about warrant-less wiretapping of American citizens or the suspension of habeas corpus?

Compared to the other forms of governments our Republic does a pretty good job of protecting private freedoms, until the liberal left wingers get into positions of authority and screw things up.

So it was liberal left wingers who brought us the 4th amendment trashing, so-called "Patriot" Act?

finally someone will explain this to americans.

right now i'm thinking about american presidents. I've seen many of them ruling usa, but since 1950 they have same politic line. I meen vietnam, korea where usa was testing it's weapon. Kosovo - access to Europe battlefield. Iraq, Syria, Iran - access to Oil and sell it to Europe using Nabucca pipe. Ukraine and georgia - building new bases. S.Osetia - to make Europe be scared of "bad" Russia and make Polands agree with new base there. (usa did that once by sacraficing KAL 007 boeing and began building rocket shield)

there were many presidents and only 1 politic line. that makes me thinking that some group of men are standing behind and saying everyone (even president) what they should do... democracy?

It has many aspects, these days, of each of these.

Plutocracy.

Can't help being ridiculous, can you? Oh, and I voted you up. Wanted your answer to be plainly visible to all.

You don't even know what a plutocracy is, do you MikeHend? You were so excited to tell us that the video is so wonderful your daughter is going to put it in her curriculum... what does the video say? That an unprotected republic turns into an oligarchy, right? The whole POINT of the video was that historically both democracies and republics have moved towards oligarchy. What is a plutocracy? It's a form of oligarchy. Sheesh.

Sheesh, a Plutocracy refers to the government being run by the wealthy. As it could be included in the Oligarchy it was redundant and contributed nothing.

Yay! You have a dictionary after all. An oligarchy could be government by an elite cadre of military leaders, or a certain social class, or a certain ethnic group. So saying a Plutocracy clarifies what kind (in her opinion) of oligarchy it is. So her comment does not contribute nothing. Just because you disagree with her doesn't make her ridiculous.
