Well it depends on which theories in physics you subscribe to. If you believe time is an actual dimension all its own, then it will be possible one day.
If you believe that time is a human concept and there is only the here and the now, well then by this definition time travel will never be possible ...
Which leads us to believe that if people from the future are traveling back in time ... they are either extremely good at not being caught, or that it just isn't possible.
Sorry to spoil the party but: One cannot travel backwards in time, as there is only one possible past. And if you were part of it, you were part of it in the only insofar as you have come to being yourself now. In other words, time travel is not possible unless the laws of general relativity are false. Which is... not so (as far as all rational beings are concerned).
