Yeah - it is an interesting question. Is it a question in general about the Website that the person happens to be looking at when asked the question or about this site (ask500people.com)?

What other sites do these questions get asked on?

PS I think the site is one of the most intriguing ideas I have seen on the web recently. BUT What is the business model???? Is there one?

Hey sehnotts, welcome to the site. In addition to here on Ask500People, questions get asked on partner sites and on sites that have added our widget.

Regarding the business model, there are a few directions we can take. Market research is one of the options we're looking at, along with advertising. None are very effective until we get some scale though, so that's our first priority.

Thanks for participating and the kind words. :)

Oh heck no...I'm enjoying all you crazy people. Especially those darn Canadians.

What guise of usefulness? I just find it purely entertaining.

Me too. All of us Canadians are crazy, so we don't understand usefulness. Every single one of us.

PROCREATION.

QUES: Is this website really just a method of procrastination (correct spelling), under the guise of being something useful?

The answer is quite simple IF you think about it. It is ... IF ... you are the kind of person who's mind is so closed as to NOT learn something every day.

I am 62 years old and I realise every day how much I DON'T know ... that is why I try to learn at least one new thing each and every day.

One of the things I have noticed on this site, is the fact that mixed in amongst all of the BS questions, there are little bits and pieces of new and interesting facts, questions and observations that are illicited by the varied questions that are offered as grist for the "poll" machine.

When the grist is ground finely, there is always one new fact to be derived from the experience if you have an open mind.

This is true, but when you consider the "average" IQ is only 100 what would you really expect? 100 really isn't very bright.

stupid question, does "yes" stands for "just a method of procrasination" or for "being something useful"....
