So your not a brave "Black Man" like I thought you are.

Black man? O__o

"Love your neighbor as yourself." That's my motto.

So, yeah

It would be a spur of the moment decision and I think my answer would be "yes," but in doing so my only thought would be I might be able to save them -- I wouldn't even consider that I might get hit in the process.

I would do it again and did so few times during WWII; in reality is no time for thinking - you just react.

You did? Wow.

Yes I think my response would be the same, if I would start to think rational and realize I could actually be killed myself I would be too much of a coward probably, but that is not how these things work. Also if a person A hates a person B, it is very well possiblethat A does not hate me and does not want to shoot me. By jumping in front of B, A might feel the need to reconsider what he is doing.

Done it twice so far --- would do so again

Every time the same person?

No -- two different people --- one was a little girl, the other was a comrade.

My mother protected me with her full body when I was 5 years. While laying low on a forest ground one of the countless bullets went through a wide sleeve of her coat and scrachted her arm. We were lucky!
