Hauli is absolutely correct. For many this is not a "yes or no" question. In fact since there is no direct evidence that there IS a God, and it is impossible to prove there is NOT a God, I would venture to guess that for most rationally thinking people, this is not a "yes or no" question.
There needs to be an option for those that aren't entirely sure. Also, the capital "G" in god suggests the Christian god and not those of other religions.
I think Zeus and Odin would both be happy if your capitalized the letter G when referencing them. The G is often capitalized out of respect rather than being an implied religion. To make it a g would be insulting to those who believe in monotheism, and capitalizing it doesn't affect polytheists.
In other words: keep your political correctness to yourself.
Edited to add: but I will agree that there needs to be a choice for those who are unsure.
