Yes, it is clearly liberal (not all, but the vast majority, in large part due to all the NY Times owned newspapers across the country).
I agree!!!
Yes. Clearly liberal for the most part. Not there are not some excellent Journalists in various areas. But they do have to seem to have an agenda(and I' speaking of the American Press) that is not totally healthy for our country. Like creating revenues vs reporting. Maybe. Very critical. Also they are not entrepreneurs but employees. I am amazed that on 5 stations in one market they all run the same story---virtually at the same time of the hour. Limited.
So they think differently from the doers and the dreamers.
In the US, Fox News is so right wing they are practically a propaganda channel for the Bush administration.
I think its interesting to see the difference in opinion on this question between American and European voters.
As to Fox News, its ridiculous that some countries will not allow it to air. You cannot have an intellegent discussion of the issues if only one side of the issue is allowed to speak. Secondly, I disagree with this notion that Fox News is sooooo right wing. I think more accurately, they appear "right wing" because they dont march in line with the rest of the media which leans leftish. I dont think the media is made of extremists on either side. Fox is slightly right, CNN is slightly left. Who cares? We should take our news from a variety of sources. If Fox bothers you, dont watch it... let the market decide... interestingly the market is consistantly showing FOX with better ratings... why? I think because they are the only alternative news source from the NYT/CNN/PBS stuff... But I think you are just shooting yourself in the foot if you dont consider and analyze news from a variety of diverse sources. But if you wish to wear the blindfold of modern liberalism, then thats your choice... As a free-market neo-liberal, I think its important not to be as close-minded the "anti-Fox" crowd often sounds.
There are liberal and right-wing outlets. Youse pays your money and you takes you choice.
Yes, it is clearly controlled by conservative business and political interests.
I can't believe so many dumb asses don't realize how much control the government and bug money have on the media.
Here is the press freedom index of "Reporters Without Frontiers": http://www.rsf.org/article.php3?id_article=24025 very interesting...
The drive by media expresses its far left wing bias in a most direct way when it repeats verbatim the Democrat party's daily talking points. No matter how many lies or felonies the Prevaricator in Chief committed while in office, the liberal press gave him a pass or made flimsy excuses, “it's only about sex and we all lie”. Whereas, Bush gets blamed for things he can't control, namely natural disasters and the actions of foreign leaders. Has anyone bothered to count the number of retractions printed by the NYT on an annual basis and how many reporters and editors have been fired for deliberately falsifying stories? You will need a calculator.
The liberals choose what is news-worthy and air the positive about Democrats and the negative about Republicans.
