BILL TITLE: To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide earnings assistance and tax relief to members of the uniformed services, volunteer firefighters, and Peace Corps volunteers, and for other purposes
Interesting how the Republicans were yesterday blaming the DEMOCRATS that this bill failed when a majority of Democrats voted FOR the bill, but a majority of Republicans voted AGAINST it.
Can ANYONE explain that in a LOGICAL manner? Do you Republicans SEE how you're being lied to? Even PELOSI voted for it - yet the Republican personally BLAMED her for the failure of the bill to pass.
How much more proof do you need that you're being filled with propaganda?

There is so much propaganda on both sides on this that to point out one side is disingenious silly.
Neither side is to blame for this failing. It was a bi partisan failure.
Pelosi's ad libbed rant right before the vote probably didn't help matters though.
There are also some rumors that Pelosi gave the okay for many of the Nay Dems to vote that way because nays were playing better with the voting public (and those Dems were in tight reelection campaigns). Since she assumed she had enough Repubs to pass the bill anyway.
There is some lying going on there as well.
Don't try blaming either side here. Though the most honest possible assessment here is that the Dems were playing as much or more politics than the Repubs with this vote. They don't need the Repubs to pass this bill. They have the majority, and can pass bills on their own.
Sorry - but I go by the local news. Boehner (lives about 20 miles from here) was the first clip. Ranted about Pelosi blowing the vote out of the water. Next guy - same deal. Dems shut it down. That was the rant. Followed with anchors warning about the 'brink of economic collapse the country is facing' followed by a clip of Pelosi rambling about something that had nothing to do with the vote.
Now I find out that Pelosi voted for it, a majority of Democrats voted for it, a majority of Republicans voted against it - but the Republican Party leaders were blaming the ENTIRE failure to pass on the Democrats.
I get Republican Party propaganda - courtesy of Rupert Murdoch's news stations. Your news just must be a bit different.
I gave you the government link to the Roll Call vote of the House of Representatives. It SHOWS who voted aye, it shows who vote nay. YOU figure it out.

What are "other purposes"?

Democratic Party Ayes: 140
Democratic Party Noes: 95
Republican Party Ayes: 65
Republican Party Noes: 133
Roll call listed by Representative Name. Democrats in plain print, Republicans in italics. Pelosi is listed under the "Ayes."
Your information is EXACTLY backwards:
