United States

Heh! Seems like we have a case of political correctness backfiring!
I heard this actually happened and there was no way they could legally deny the award, but, yes, they were peeved. I thought it would make for a good poll. :)
I can't find anything on this in google except the mention of a similar rumor earlier this year on snopes -- http://message.snopes.com/showthread.php?t=42358
My guess is that it isn't true.
I don't remember where I saw it. Maybe it was Snopes. I just don't know.
Sure, they are free to be as peeved a they see fit. They might even change the eligibility to prevent it from happening again.
Was it a Boer who won the scholarship ?
It was an African-AMERICAN but I don't remember the article stating what part of South Africa his ancestors were from.
There are white African-Americans also! If your born in Africa and become a U.S. citizen aren't you African-American?
"Go to the head of the class."
(A Milton-Bradley game from the 1960's I believe.)
Charlize Theron is a proud African-American. :)
I knew she was South African. I didn't know she has dual citizenships. Thanks for the heads up.
