Is it proper to send a greeting card if the inscription is not heart felt? Ask a Question

I ask this question because yesterday I planned to buy a "Mother's Day" card. They only had about six cards that were even close to appropriate for her and I read them all and none sounded like they were from me.

There is still time to find one, but I asked this question because I am wondering if many other people have a problem finding a card that sounds like something they wrote themselves. And if you can't find a card that truly sounds sincere, do you buy one anyway just to avoid feeling guilty about not sending one? Or would the person getting it feel worse if they knew you wouldn't really write an inscription (message) like the one in the card you sent?

I agree with you and have been in that same spot many times, I don't get the card if it isn't me, sometimes I look for humorous cards, as long as there is a good sense of humor in the receiver, it works for me. There are certainly times when you have to be serious but many funny cards can be used.

I rarely buy cards, but when I do, if I can't find one that fits I just get a blank one and write something in.

I make my own. All you need is a good program, good ideas and a good printer. Have ever taken a good look at most of the crap they have in just about all of the card stores?

I'll buy a blank card if I can't find one with a relevant sentiment.
