Many things affect the climate, greenhouse gases are called that because they reduce the thermal conductivity of the atmosphere. The problem is trying to predict by how much the global climate will change as a result and how severe the effects of climate change will be on the worlds population.
True and CO2 is much less important than the biggest greenhouse gas, water vapour. If CO2 increases by 100% the total amount of greenhouse gasses will only increase by 2 or 3%. So the idea that CO2 emitted by man will have much effect on the climate is absurd.
Lots of people have opinions, mostly based on the need to preserve some sense of stability in their lives. Few of those voices have delved into the technical discussions to raise pertinent points. In this case, the media, in their need to have a narrative to sell, have jumped on "ClimateGate" because it is a vehicle to sell their stories. Only a small number of journalists are going to pursue the science when they can sell more ads, more easily, by criticizing the scientists for perceived imperfections the writers think they can understand. But the science is not fraudulent, and no significant technical issues to their results have emerged.
Weather models are not the evidence underpinning AGW. The interpretation of ClimateGate which you promote is bogus. Your conspiracy theories are hogwash. You refuse to address the real evidence. If you are sincere, which I doubt, you don't seem educable. I'll waste no more time with you on this subject, at least for now.
Without the atmosphere the mean surface temperature of the earth would be about -18°C with the added contribution of the greenhouse effect, it is instead much higher, roughly 14°C a difference of 32°C. -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenhouse_effect#Greenhouse_gases
If we take the lowest contribution of carbon dioxide to the greenhouse effect, 9% at current levels, then a 50% increase of carbon dioxide (from 6% to 9%) will have increased surface temperatures by 3% or 1°C Of course other greenhouse gases have also increased and as the air gets warmer it can hold more water vapor. Your numbers of 2 - 3% are off by about 50% from the lowest estimates, I hope my explanation helps a little to clear the confusion.
