You're so wrong, it's actually ridiculous. The U.S.A. has a military with technology and armament second to none. Canada basically has no military. There's no way a country without a very strong military would ever be considered a major power.
Well power is not only viewed through militaristic brute force like that of the USA but also through economic, and humanitarian power. Canada is respected and admired everywhere in the world, because we are a peaceful and inclusive society. We are not warmongers who are constantly bullying smaller countries around and then asking why does everyone hate us.
Superpowers have always been defined primarily by their militaristic might. USA, Russia, China. You're trying to change the definition. Oh, wow, your dollar is creeping up in value, woo, that must make Canada a superpower. LOL
we shall see what happens when you and the rest of the world runs out of natural resources and we are the only ones left with abundant resources. Then we will know who is the superpower.
Besides let the poll run and we will see what the rest of the world thinks.

Oh, so Superpower status should be based on who will have the most natural resources when everyone else runs out? LOL, I guess we could give it about five hundred trillion years until the planet starts to run out and see what happens. LOL
No. Canada has a relatively small population(33 million)
they are about the 10th largest world economy(smaller than California in population and economically) and actaully have about the same size of an economy as the US Hispanic population.
holy cow Batman, you sure got a lot of heat on this one. Even though I think you are dreaming on this one, at least it's an honest reasonable question. Unlike too many I have seen here.
Canada possesses some of the world's largest mineral resources and has more oil in the sands of Alberta than the whole of Saudi Arabia, but suffers from a small population and a political unwillingness to expand the military. If these can be corrected, then we certainly have what it takes to grow strong (in the USA sense). If Canada wanted to, we could have a nuclear missile ready in just a few months. We have large uranium mines, many nuclear power plants and the means of processing the materials. The point is, we can be. But we are a young country that believes in peace and global democracy, and not in spreading fear and encouraging terrorism. With time and the spread of global awareness Canada can be a major power.
Hot topic indeed, i didn't realize it will generate so much controversy but all is well, we shall see what the "rest of the world" thinks if you can call 100 ppl that!
lol, you must be joking. only if they ride on the coat-tail of the U.S.A.
actually Canada is already viewed as a medium power on the rise while the USA is on the downtrend.

Not with government-ran health care they won't.
Canada will only be a power when they can enlist better singers on Canadian Idol...
