As a rule, yes. But hypothetically, such an institution could have some redeeming qualities too.

Hypothetically.

The US Congress certainly fits the bill (don't read bills that get voted on and become the law of the land).

People should make the effort to be informed.

People can beleive what they want, and I won't burn them at the stake or make them second class citizens. I won't even treat the INDIVIDUAL disrespectfully. But stupid ideas? C'mon.

So you think that religion is the only institution that promotes ignorance? I would have put the media first, and the education system second.
