Hawaii is nice to visit, but outrageously priced to live compared to the rest of the country. I've lived in the mid-west most of my life. It's a great place to live, quiet, well connected for life necessities, inexpensive compared to the rest of the country - only the occasional yokel to make you crazy. (lol) And you're already at the half way point to any exciting place in the country!
