I think it will take a lot longer than that.
Remember it has been 40 years since we went to the moon.
back then everyone expected we would have a permanent base on the moon by now, and be starting on Mars exploration my humans.
You can only go as fast as how much effort you put into it....
We will be too busy paying for and paying back the war debt.

I would'nt want to live on another planet, and I think many other people would agree with me, but you could send some baby up to there, so we could assure our existence ;)
babies are not well known for their ability to form a colony anywhere, let alone in space.
Yes, with some babysitter-robots of course ;)
