If you've been to a Norwegian smorgasbord and an American buffet like Golden Coral, which is better? Ask a Question

I have to answer "blue," of course if I knew the difference I wouldn't have needed to ask the poll, right? :)

Can someone explain to me what a Golden Coral buffet is like?

I have been to what was probably a "Danish smorgasbord" - I don't know how similar that is tho the Norwegian version. But because it contained large amounts of seafood and rye bread - two things I absolutely do not like to eat - I'm afraid a smorgasbord is not for me.

The American buffet served at "Golden Corral" is quite diverse. This .pdf has the majority of the items regularly available there:

I'm not much of an eater. I get full after starter.

Is Golden Corral something like Old Country Buffet?

Would the Norwegian smorgasbord be in the US or Norway? I believe the authenticity might make a difference.

From what I hear, an American buffet is pretty gross- but I suppose it depends on where it is served?

Friends who have returned from the states have been desperate for fresh vegetables and salads.

If they were desperate for fresh vegetables and salads maybe it was because all they ate was "fast food." We have plenty of real restaurants here too, they just didn't look. :)

I have to admit though, I would never eat what they call "steak," not anymore, nor would I eat what they call meatloaf because there is no telling what went into it. (Though I wouldn't even eat meatloaf at home for the very same reason).
