No, he's not. Being Christian is actually considered a crime in some parts of the world. He is not saying that being a christian is evil at all.

So?

Get a grip, Nutters. You are totally misunderstanding the question (nothing new there).

C.S. Lewis is asking if our actions as Christians are in-line with our beliefs to the point where IF it were a crime to be a Christian would there even be enough evidence to convict us of being one.

Are you kidding me?!

I'm not side stepping anything. It was obvious you misunderstood the question, so I am clarifying.

"You are insinuating that being a Christian is evil. " - Wingnutt, 44 minutes ago.

Clearly not!

This coming from someone who thinks this question is insinuating that being a Christian is evil(!) lol

No, you didn't. Because the question did NOT insinuate that being a Christian is evil. It hypothesizes that if Christianity were a crime, would your actions provide evidence that you are even a Christian. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Christianity being evil. Repeat. I am NOT insinuating (and I presume the Mr. Lewis was not insinuating) that Christianity is evil.

ps he is doing this to get your goat. He is not as stupid as he pretends to be. NO one is that stupid.

If it quacks like a duck....

...and walks like a duck...

No, he's just capable of a thought that is more involved than "Beer. Good."

lol

Really? I am insinuating that being a Christian is evil? Really?

This question is a quote from C.S. Lewis. Do you know who he was? Probably the foremost Christian apologist of the 20th century.

<grin>

Indeed you are correct. I reckon Nutters is not familiar with The Screwtape Letters, The Chronicles of Narnia, or any of C.S. Lewis's many essays. Maybe if someone doesn't realize Lewis was one of the most intellectual Christians (oxymoron?) of the 20th century it might be possible they would misinterpret the question. Personally I think the question is very clever and actually humorous to someone familiar with Lewis's writings.

It would be kind of funny if Nutter's opinion influenced others to mark it inappropriate to the point where it was "Removed By The Community." It would become yet another indelible monument to ignorance on this site. :)

Personal attacks, great way to get your point across(!)

It's his speciality.

Nice try, Nutters, but I have not and do not attack YOU and not your arguments, or responded to an argument by calling you names like "dipshit."

I do, of course, have my own special little pet name for you, but that is not a personal attack... it's just a term of endearment.

When did you recieve personal attacks from Chipmonk?

You might want to look up the word "inane" before throwing it around. It hardly applies here. Unless, of course, you want to call the foremost Christian writer of the 20th century "inane."

I wish YOU would try to comprehend what I asked. I've explained it to you twice now.

See? He really is JonMarc.

I'll be damned.

While looking for proof C.S. Lewis actually said the alleged quote and being unable to find it (still deeeming it possible) I decided I was a little too rough on you. Without supportive evidence it is wrong to be so insistent even if we think we are right.

Evenso, in the search for Lewis' specific quote, I noticed the same quote is often asked in religious circles, so it it easy to believe Plawler asked it sincerely and with a believe Lewis wrote it, because Lewis has written many pithy thoughts of a similar nature.

Pointed added.

You really do stand up and hit your head on the conversation, don't you?

Except that she didn't. Unless of course you can actually POINT to that comment. Good luck with that.

Are you sensing a pattern here? Or have you already convinced yourself that you're all right and the world's all wrong. ;o)
