Time Machine, you could always go back in time and invest or rob trains carrying gold with raids of bandits wielding machine guns... Hmmm... someone should make a cool sci-fi movie like that.
The thing is, I think time travel will screw things up somehow if anyone ever invented it, so I'll be content with the money making machine.
Don't they arrest you for the money making machine thing?

You do have the major consequence of the time machine affecting future events. If you even change one small thing, your entire future could never exist.
But what about the theory that the life you're living now is the result of the past that you've already changed? If it happened in the past - then it's already happened.
Why not use a time machine to go forward, not backwards?
A time machine would be a money-making machine. On the occasions where no Powerball winner is announced you go back in time, pick the winning numbers, then the next day you make a fortune.
Then you look at the stock prices in today's newspaper, you note all the big winners, then you go back in time and invest in them. After a few weeks of Powerball and stock investments it's a sure thing you'd be a billionaire.
I take that back, I vote Money making machine it's reality stupid.
I am not materialistic, and am culturistic, especially with past culture. I love to be able to spend a day in ancient greece or Rome.... or take a visit to the 1920s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s..... that'd be fun.
choose time travel over counterfeiting? I think that's pretty easy, unless the time traveling unravels the universe, in which case, i guess i made a mistake.
of course if the "time machine" is a clock, and the "money making machine" is a cool new 5000 MPG car design, complete with all the money i need to bring it to market etc, then well. that's a pretty easy choice too.
I'd go as far into the future as I can and live all this mess that we call world behind.
