Really good question imo. :-) But by "people" I'll take it that you mean "strangers & persons who aren't related to you" because obviously, if one has children they have a pretty good chance of remembering you... Strangers are an entirely different matter.

Whether or not people remember me in 50 years depends on how well Internet archivists do their job. If they continue to do as good a job as they are doing now, then yes, there is an excellent chance.

Fair point, perhaps it should have been 150 years or something, when the first and second generation children have probably have died.

I do not think i've done something really special that will make people remember me for years..boohoo :)
still time! And there are always charities who'd appreciate any help which may make people remember you!
