A real tough choice. I have far more John Lennon CDs. My wife has far more Elvis CDs. Being that she loves Elvis much more than I care about John Lennon I'll go with Elvis for her sake.
I remember the night Elvis died as I was driving from New England to Florida and drove all night in the Carolinas and Georgia. Every friggin station was playing Elvis. Of the 2 selections, I miss Lennon more. Of the dead ones, maybe Stevie Ray Vaughn?
She would not be in control, but would likely still be a part of his life. Not necessarily as his wife though, but as the mother of their child together.

It's my guess Elvis would probably win if there was a way to get all Elvis fans and all John Lennon fans to vote, but I bet here John is winning because fewer Elvis fans visit as many Web 2.0 web sites.

Elvis never wrote anything and caused his own death. Lennon on the other hand, had a lot of music still in him and his life was taken from him.
